The CoE PLACE will be managed to become a leading research center in Sriwijaya University towards UNSRI++ (Undisputable Excellence, Networking, Sustainability, Relevancy and Innovations), which means Undisputable excellent in various activities of tridharma in accordance with its mission, continuous care and improvement of Networking with various parties involved, always pay attention to Sustainability ot the activities through various planned programs, and its implementation with measurable indicators to improve Relevance with the implementation of good Internal management based on excellent of integrity and idealism to produce variety of Innovations that provide benefits to people and able to competitive in national and international levels.

    In 2023, the Center of Excellence for Peatland and Mangrove Conservation and Productivity Improvement (CoE Place) at Universitas Sriwijaya, located in Kayuagung, South Sumatra, carried out a significant fieldwork initiative aimed at restoring and preserving the region’s vital peatland and mangrove ecosystems. The symposium focused on the critical role of community involvement in restoring degraded peatlands, emphasizing that local knowledge and active participation are essential for the long-term success and sustainability of these efforts.
